Free Guide to Finding Cousins Maine Lobster Trucks

Understanding Cousins Maine Lobster Truck Locations and Schedule

Cousins Maine Lobster operates multiple food trucks across the United States, with the highest concentration in California, particularly in the Los Angeles area. The company started in 2012 when two cousins from Maine, Jim and Sabin Celley, began selling lobster rolls from a single truck. Today, they operate multiple locations that serve fresh Maine lobster products. Each truck follows a specific schedule and route, visiting different neighborhoods on different days of the week.

The main Los Angeles location operates regularly at The Lot on Vine in Hollywood, which serves as a semi-permanent hub. From this central location, Cousins Maine Lobster dispatches additional trucks to various parts of the city. For example, trucks typically visit West Hollywood, Santa Monica, and other beach communities on rotating schedules. Understanding this structure helps you plan when and where to find a truck near you.

Beyond California, Cousins Maine Lobster has expanded to other states. They have operated trucks in Las Vegas, Hawaii, and other locations, though availability varies by season and market demand. Some locations operate year-round while others are seasonal. The company also sells through some brick-and-mortar restaurants and seafood markets in certain areas.

Practical takeaway: Research your specific region first. If you live in the Los Angeles area, your chances of finding a truck are highest. Check the company website or social media for the most current information about which states currently have active trucks.

Using Social Media and Official Channels to Track Truck Locations

Cousins Maine Lobster maintains active social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter where they post regular updates about truck locations and schedules. Instagram is particularly useful because the company posts stories and feed updates multiple times per week showing where trucks will be and when. These posts often include specific addresses, times, and any special menu items available that day.

The official Cousins Maine Lobster website contains location information, though it may not be as frequently updated as their social media channels. The website typically shows permanent or semi-permanent locations and provides general information about service areas. For real-time location data, social media is usually more reliable since trucks update their whereabouts several times daily.

Facebook pages for specific regional trucks often have their own schedules posted. For instance, if a truck operates primarily in Santa Monica, it may have a dedicated Facebook page with that location's specific schedule. These regional pages sometimes offer promotions or special events information that isn't posted to the main company account.

Twitter accounts are used less frequently by Cousins Maine Lobster but may contain location announcements and operational updates. Setting up notifications on the platforms where trucks are most active in your region ensures you see schedule changes or special events. Some trucks also use location-sharing features on Instagram stories to broadcast their exact whereabouts during operating hours.

Practical takeaway: Follow the main Cousins Maine Lobster Instagram account and Facebook page. Then search for any regional pages specific to your area. Check these accounts at least 2-3 times per week to stay current on locations and schedules in your neighborhood.

Finding Trucks Through Third-Party Food Truck Apps and Maps

Several food truck tracking applications help customers locate mobile food vendors, and some include Cousins Maine Lobster locations. Apps like Roaming Hunger, The Lunch Box, and other regional food truck directories sometimes feature Cousins Maine Lobster trucks with updated location information. These apps allow users to search by cuisine type, location, and sometimes dietary preferences. While not all trucks are listed on all platforms, checking these apps can reveal locations you might not find through social media.

Google Maps represents another valuable tool for locating Cousins Maine Lobster trucks. Searching "Cousins Maine Lobster near me" in Google Maps may show current locations and hours, particularly for semi-permanent locations like The Lot on Vine in Hollywood. The platform displays user reviews, ratings, and sometimes recent photos from customers who have visited. Maps also shows distance from your current location and provides directions.

Yelp listings for Cousins Maine Lobster can provide information about different truck locations in various cities. The platform includes customer reviews, photos of food items, and sometimes pricing information. Yelp shows operating hours when available, though mobile truck hours can be less reliable than traditional restaurant hours. Some Yelp listings may be outdated, so cross-reference with social media for the most current information.

Food truck aggregator websites that focus on specific cities sometimes maintain databases of local trucks. Los Angeles food truck websites, for example, often list Cousins Maine Lobster locations and schedules because the company maintains a significant presence in that market. These city-specific resources can provide detailed schedule information updated regularly by local food truck enthusiasts or official city tourism sites.

Practical takeaway: Start with Google Maps to find the closest semi-permanent location in your area. Then download Roaming Hunger or a similar food truck app to track mobile trucks. This two-step approach usually provides the most complete picture of where Cousins Maine Lobster operates near you.

Understanding Menu Items, Pricing, and What to Bring

Cousins Maine Lobster specializes in Maine lobster rolls, which remain their signature item. The classic Maine lobster roll features chunks of lobster meat served on a New England-style split-top bun with minimal additional ingredients. Many customers order this as their primary menu item. Prices for lobster rolls typically range from $17 to $25 depending on the specific location and lobster market prices that day. The company adjusts prices seasonally based on lobster availability and cost.

Beyond lobster rolls, trucks typically offer lobster quesadillas, lobster tacos, lobster mac and cheese, and sometimes lobster grilled cheese sandwiches. Sides may include french fries, coleslaw, or seasonal vegetables. Beverage options vary by truck but often include bottled drinks, sometimes local sodas, and occasionally beer or wine depending on local regulations. Dessert items like lobster-flavored ice cream have been offered at certain locations.

Most Cousins Maine Lobster trucks accept both cash and card payments. However, carrying cash ensures you can purchase even if a truck's card reader experiences technical issues. Some trucks may also have payment apps like Venmo or PayPal, but this varies. Checking the specific truck's social media before visiting often indicates accepted payment methods.

Portion sizes are substantial. A single lobster roll provides a generous serving of fresh lobster meat. Many customers find one item sufficient for a meal, though some prefer ordering two items to try different preparations. Lobster rolls contain genuine Maine lobster meat, not imitation products, which justifies the higher price point compared to typical food truck meals.

Practical takeaway: Plan to spend $20-30 per person for a complete meal including a lobster roll and drink. Check the truck's Instagram before visiting to confirm current menu items and prices, as seasonal variations occur. Bring cash or confirm card payment acceptance before ordering.

Best Times to Visit and Avoiding Wait Lines

Cousins Maine Lobster trucks experience peak demand during lunch hours (11:30 AM to 1:30 PM) and dinner hours (5:30 PM to 8:00 PM), particularly on weekends and in warmer months. Wait times during these peak periods often exceed 30 minutes, sometimes reaching 45 minutes to an hour during especially busy days. Visiting during off-peak hours significantly reduces wait time. Mid-afternoon visits between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM typically feature much shorter lines, often 5-15 minutes.

The specific day of the week affects demand levels. Weekend days, particularly Saturdays and Sundays, draw larger crowds than weekday visits. If your schedule permits, visiting on a Tuesday through Thursday generally means encountering fewer customers and faster service. Weather also influences truck traffic; trucks may not operate or may see reduced customers during rainy or extremely hot days.

Location matters significantly for wait times. Trucks positioned in high-foot-traffic areas near beaches, entertainment districts, or business centers experience higher demand than trucks in quieter neighborhoods. The semi-permanent location at The Lot on Vine in Hollywood typically has longer waits than trucks positioned in less central locations. Checking social media just before visiting sometimes reveals real-time wait information posted by customers.

Seasonal factors affect operational schedules. Summer months bring higher demand and potentially longer wait times. Winter months, particularly in California, may feature reduced
